Magnolia, Texas – September 26, 2018: On Tuesday, Magnolia ISD administration was made aware of a verbal threat made by a Magnolia West High School student. The District immediately informed the Montgomery County Precinct 5 Constables Office who investigated the incident. Last night, law enforcement officials deemed there was not a threat to the school. The student is currently in law enforcement custody.
According to the Precinct 5 Constables Office the student that made the threat was suspended prior to the threat for a dress code violation.
“Magnolia ISD is working in cooperation with local authorities to ensure the student who made this threat and caused the disruption is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Magnolia ISD takes these matters seriously for the safety and security of our students and staff.
Please be assured that all students and staff are safe and we will continue to have a normal instructional school day. The district is providing additional officers so our students and staff feel safe at school.
Magnolia ISD would also like to thank the students who heard the student make the threat and took the correct action in notifying an administrator and reporting the information on Anonymous Alerts.” Statement from MISD.
